Thirty-three representatives from the health and medical industry recently spent the day at the CiTi BOCES Mexico campus for the Health Careers Expo.
The expo drew students from Oswego County schools and CiTi BOCES programs, offering them a firsthand look at the wide array of opportunities available in the health and medical fields. Attendees participated in interactive activities and had the chance to network with professionals.
Dana Donovan, a Speech Language Pathologist for Oswego Hospital, explained the significance of attending these events. “We are able to help students explore healthcare professions as they plan for their future education and training,” she said. “I wish I had this opportunity in high school; I didn’t even know what speech pathology was.”
The following organizations attended the expo: Oswego Health, Menter Ambulance, Oswego County Health Department, ConnextCare, YMCA, Oswego County Opportunities, Upstate Medical University Nursing, Medical Examiner’s Office, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Rehabilitation, CiTi Speech Launguage Pathologist, CiTi Teachers of the Deaf, CiTi Teachers of the Visually Impaired, CiTi School Audiologist, Crouse Health, CiTi Adult Education, McFee Ambulance, Cayuga Community College, St. Luke Healthcare Services, US Army Medic Unit, CiTi CTE Dental Assistants, On Point for College, Saint Joseph College of Nursing, Oswego County Department of Workforce Development, Mexico Emergency Services, SUNY Oswego and the US Air Force Medic Unit.
