Administrative Substitutes provide daily, as-needed coverage for CiTi BOCES Principals when they are absent or unavailable. Position Overview:

The Administrative Substitute provides on-site administrative leadership and support to ensure the safe, effective, and consistent operation of CiTi BOCES programs during the absence of the regularly assigned Principal.

Assignments may be available across various CiTi BOCES programs and locations and will vary based on organizational needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide daily administrative oversight and leadership for the assigned program or building.
• Support students and staff throughout the school day.
• Respond to student behavioral, disciplinary, safety, and other concerns as they arise.
• Assist staff in addressing immediate instructional or operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must hold a current and valid New York State administrative certification appropriate for serving in a school-level administrative capacity (SBL, SAS, or equivalent).

Position Summary

CiTi BOCES is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered Long-Term Substitute Physical Education Teacher to provide physical education instruction for students enrolled in our A+ and STRIVE programs. The primary population served will be students with autism in the A+ Program, with additional instruction provided to students in the STRIVE Program. Position Overview:

The Early College Specialist is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of Early College programs and services for CiTi’s component districts. This innovative position includes oversight of partnership development with colleges, school districts, families, and industry partners.  The Early College Specialist will be assigned to 9 school districts in the Herkimer Region with their partnering colleges and industry partnerships in the new BOCES service called Early College Access.  

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Title Specific:
  • Envision, create, promote, and establish new Early College programs and services that relate to the needs of the districts. 
  • Research best practices and provide guidance in Early College Opportunities.  
  • Establish professional relationships with Institutes of Higher Education.  
  • Envision, create, promote, and establish new Early College programs and services that relate to the needs of the districts.
  • Develop and update best practices and training materials to help others to implement early college opportunities.

• Program Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight and planning for an Early College High School (ECHS) continuum of services;
  • Work in collaboration with K-12 Partnerships staff to evaluate course offerings in area high schools, on campus and via distance learning to assist in the creation of meaningful pathways;
  • Oversee course offerings at each high school to keep ECHS students on track to program completion;
  • Provide academic advising oversight for ECHS students, and work with College advising staff to support K-12 school counselors in ECHS advising;

The Educational Audiologists performs services related to diagnosing, managing, and treating hearing and balance problems in order to ensure that students have access to the educational environment. Other duties involve participation on multi-disciplinary teams and Committees for Special Education for individual students, providing evidence for needed services and HAT technology, monitoring personal hearing instruments, recommending, fitting and managing HAT devices.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, specialized background, training and experience.

Possession of a valid license and current registration, issued by the NYS Education Department, in audiology or possession of a current public school teacher certificate, issued by the NYS Education Department, in the area of speech and hearing handicapped. This is a Civil Service Position within CiTi BOCES and candidates must meet Civil Service requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops, supervises, and performs student hearing screenings;

Job Qualifications:

We are seeking motivated and skilled Teaching Assistants to join our Career & Technical Education (CTE) Special Education and Alternative Education programs. Ideal candidates will assist Teachers/Instructors in delivering comprehensive educational experiences, support hands-on lab/shop and classroom instruction, and help students develop skills necessary for careers in various trades. Prior experience in trades such as agriculture, construction, automotive, welding, electrical, or similar fields is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Classroom Support:
   • Assist the instructor with lesson planning, material preparation, and classroom setup
   • Support classroom management and facilitate a positive learning environment
   • Provide individual or small group assistance to students during instructional activities
2. Lab and Workshop Assistance:
   • Assist in the setup, maintenance, and organization of lab and workshop areas
   • Supervise students during hands-on activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols
   • Support the instructor in conducting demonstrations and practical exercises
3. Administrative Support:
   • Maintain accurate records of student attendance
   • Assist in preparing instructional materials such as worksheets, handouts, and presentations
   • Help organize and manage an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
4. Student Support:
   • Provide academic support for all students
   • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students
   • Mentor students and encourage their development of skills in the trades
5. Program Enhancement:
   • Collaborate with the instructor to develop and improve the curriculum
   • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and educational practices
   • Assist in promoting the program through events, presentations, and community outreach

Qualifications:

• NYS Teacher’s Assistant Certification - level 1, 2, or 3 (or ability & willingness to obtain)
• Education: preferred: Associate’s or Advanced degree in specified trades area, education, or a related field
• Experience: Previous experience in the specified field, as well as industry-specific certifications are highly desirable. Experience working with high school students is a plus

• Strong knowledge of trade-specific principles and practices
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with instructors, students, and staff
• Proficiency in using educational technology and software

The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation (CiTi BOCES) invites you to apply to be a part of SYNERGY Virtual Learning. Synergy Virtual Learning offers students and school districts multiple modalities of instruction.  This specific position is to teach German to a classroom of students in a school district synchronously via interactive videoconferencing.  While this position is a remote position, another adult will be in the classroom at the school district with the students overseeing classroom management. 

CiTi is seeking individuals to teach part-time who are flexible, creative, innovative, who think fluidly in a dynamic work environment, and will work to provide unique learning opportunities for students.  Candidates must have instructional technology skills, be well versed in virtual learning or have an aptitude for virtual learning and be a quick learner.  

Classes will be taught in a synchronous environment while using a learning management system.  Applicants will be expected to teach during the traditional workday.  

Dual certification in other areas is a plus.  Instructional technology skills are a must.  Compensation is based upon a stipend.
