  • Middle Level Behavioral Intervention Program (Grades 6–8)
    Location: Central Square Middle School

    Position Summary

    CiTi BOCES is seeking a New York State Certified General Education Teacher to join our Middle Level Behavioral Intervention Program located at Central Square Middle School. This program serves students in grades 6–8 and is designed to provide an intensely supportive, highly structured environment that promotes social‑emotional development and academic growth with the goal of successful re‑entry into the student’s home school.

    Program Description

    The Middle Level Behavioral Intervention Program provides positive opportunities for students to develop social‑emotional skills and make meaningful academic progress. Classrooms operate in a self‑contained setting with low student‑to‑adult ratios, clear expectations, and a highly structured environment.

    The program couples strong counseling support with intensive social skills instruction and academic teaching. When students demonstrate consistent progress toward identified goals, CiTi BOCES collaborates with the host district to gradually support access to general education classrooms.

    Program staffing includes a CiTi administrator, a teacher assistant in the classroom to support the teacher, and regular access to a Behavior Specialist and counselor.

    Responsibilities

    • Deliver standards‑based academic instruction aligned with New York State learning standards
    • Implement individualized academic and behavior plans, including Social‑Emotional Learning (SEL) goals and crisis management strategies
    • Implement 504 Plans as applicable
    • Establish and maintain a structured classroom environment with consistent expectations
    • Collaborate closely with teacher assistants, Behavior Specialists, counselors, administrators
    • Monitor student progress and contribute to quarterly reviews with families and home district staff

    Qualifications

  • The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation (CiTi BOCES) invites you to apply to be a part of Synergy Plus, a virtual 6:1:2 special education program. Synergy Plus is a 100% virtual opportunity to deliver one to one or small group virtual instruction based on student individual needs and subject areas during the school day.  While the program is virtual, the Behavior Systems Specialist is an in-person position located on the CiTi BOCES Main Campus located in Mexico, NY.

    Position Overview:
    CiTi BOCES is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Behavior Systems Specialist to join our Virtual Synergy Plus 6:1:2 program. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in understanding and addressing student behavior, conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), and developing effective Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs). This role requires a strong foundation in multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and the ability to implement tiered behavioral interventions in classroom settings.

     

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to identify the root causes of student behavior.

  • Location: Jefferson & Lewis County

     

    Duties and Responsibilities Include:

    • Assess student needs and establish learning goals
    • Develop and implement lessons to help students reach their goals
    • Tutor students at school, at home, or virtually using Zoom (Zoom account provided by CiTi)
    • Conduct pretest and posttest assessments with students in accordance with the NYS- Migrant Education Program’s  Service Delivery Plan (SDP)
    • Communicate with teachers to coordinate instructional activities and exchange information regarding student progress. 
    • Communicate with parents to schedule preschool children for in-home tutoring. 
    • Provide in-home or virtual tutoring for out-of-school youth (ages 16 -21 and not attending school) to assist them in learning English or in pursuing other educational goals.  
    • Make home visits (or meet virtually) with parents in order to assess students’ needs, provide updates regarding progress in tutoring and school, and encourage participation in parent involvement activities.  
    • Provide advocacy and support services for students and families based on identified needs.
    • Participate in monthly staff meetings
    • Participate in professional development activities
    • Assist with planning and implementation of educational field trips, adolescent activities, parent meetings, summer programming, and other special events.

  • The classroom teacher for Migrant Summer School provides high-quality, grade-level instruction with a focus on literacy, math, and language development, while addressing the unique academic and social-emotional needs of migrant students. The teacher works closely with program staff and support personnel to create a safe, culturally responsive, and engaging learning environment that helps students maintain skills and close learning gaps during the summer term.

    Qualifications:

    Valid NYS teaching certification in Elementary Education/Childhood Education. Experience teaching in K-12 setting, preferable with multilingual learners and/or migrant, immigrant, or other culturally and linguistically diverse student populations.

    Responsibilities:

    Plan and deliver daily standard-based lesson in core content areas, English Language Arts, Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies.

    Differentiate instruction for a wide range of English proficiency levels, academic backgrounds and grade levels, using strategies that support multilingual learners and students with interrupted formal education.

    Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades and assessment data as required by the Migrant Education Program.

  • The classroom teacher for the Summer Career Exploration Camp provides high-quality, grade-level instruction with a focus on developmentally appropriate interdisciplinary career exploration experiences for students entering grades 5 and 6.  Teachers will collaborate with counselors and community partners to plan and implement interdisciplinary learning experiences for students entering grades 5 and 6.  Teacher will coordinate and support students to prepare a culminating student showcase and family event on the last day of camp.  Experience at the elementary and/or middle level is preferred. 

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The classroom teacher for the Guardians of Lake Ontario Sanctuary Camp provides high-quality, grade-level instruction with a focus on developmentally appropriate interdisciplinary career exploration experiences for students entering grades 4 and 5.  Teachers will participate in an inspiration day at Sterling Nature Center on May 27 and be engaged in authentic curriculum writing on June 9 and 10 to prepare for launch at camp.  Teachers will facilitate and support students to prepare an exhibition on the final day.

    • Coordinate and support students to prepare a culminating student showcase on the last day of camp.

    • Act as the primary point of contact for school districts and families.
    • Oversee the daily schedule for up to 200 students and 20 staff members to create an engaging learning experience for every student.
    • Support the planning and execution of the culminating student showcase. 
    • Collaboratively develop and implement a positive behavior support system, utilizing restorative practices, all members of the learning community feel safe, included, and empowered.

  • Position Overview:

    The Early College Specialist is responsible for assisting in the planning, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of Early College programs and services for CiTi’s component districts. This innovative position includes oversight of partnership development with colleges, school districts, families, and industry partners.  The Early College Specialist will be assigned to 4-6 districts with their partnering colleges and industry partnerships in the new BOCES service called Early College Access.  

     

    Duties and Responsibilities Include:

    • Title Specific:
      • Envision, create, promote, and establish new Early College programs and services that relate to the needs of the districts. 
      • Research best practices and provide guidance in Early College Opportunities.  
      • Establish professional relationships with Institutes of Higher Education.  
      • Envision, create, promote, and establish new Early College programs and services that relate to the needs of the districts.
      • Develop and update best practices and training materials to help others to implement early college opportunities.
    • Program Responsibilities:
    • Provide oversight and planning for an Early College High School (ECHS) continuum of services;
    • Work in collaboration with K-12 Partnerships staff to evaluate course offerings in area high schools, on campus and via distance learning to assist in the creation of meaningful pathways;
    • Oversee course offerings at each high school to keep ECHS students on track to program completion;
    • Provide academic advising oversight for ECHS students, and work with College advising staff to support K-12 school counselors in ECHS advising;
    • In collaboration with College and high school, oversee ECHS students’ social and emotional needs;
    • Collaborate with:
      • BOCES and College’s applied learning staff and partner with industry to scaffold early vocational exposure, coordinate industry mentoring, and place students in exploratory and paid internships; 
      • Partners including parents, industry and secondary education to be a community/ stakeholder liaison;
      • College staff to help coordinate on-campus experiences for high school students and support for ECHS students studying on the College campus and via distance learning;
    • Oversee ECHS student registration and records maintenance; 
    • Create, implement, and maintain a communication plan and all related materials, such as website, brochures, handouts, general information summaries, and newsletters for ECHS;
    • Facilitate college visitations and job shadowing as applicable;
    • Maintain professional and effective relationships with College and high school faculty, administration and staff in order to effectively transition students from high school to College;
    • Work with College and high school staff to develop and conduct informational seminars and workshops for ECHS students; 
    • Assist with the development, administration, and assessment of program activities, goals and objectives relating directly to ECHS programs;  
    • Develop programming for early career exploration in elementary and middle school;
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications:

    • New York State Teacher Certification or Counselor Certification.
    • Educational Leadership Certificate of Advanced Study preferred;
    • Minimum of three years of experience working with students and coordinating student services, community college experience preferred;
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills required;
    • Excellent knowledge of computing technology and computer-assisted instruction required.

  • The Educational Audiologists performs services related to diagnosing, managing, and treating hearing and balance problems in order to ensure that students have access to the educational environment. Other duties involve participation on multi-disciplinary teams and Committees for Special Education for individual students, providing evidence for needed services and HAT technology, monitoring personal hearing instruments, recommending, fitting and managing HAT devices.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: Education, specialized background, training and experience.

    Possession of a valid license and current registration, issued by the NYS Education Department, in audiology or possession of a current public school teacher certificate, issued by the NYS Education Department, in the area of speech and hearing handicapped. This is a Civil Service Position within CiTi BOCES and candidates must meet Civil Service requirements.

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Typical activities characteristic of the class.

    • Develops, supervises, and performs student hearing screenings;

    • Establishes and/or coordinates appropriate referrals for further audiological, communication, educational, psychosocial, medical assessment or referrals to other outside agencies;

    • Performs diagnostic hearing evaluations on students;

    • Interprets audiological assessment results to school personnel and parents;

    • Analyzes classroom noise and acoustics to make recommendations for improving the listening environment;

    • Makes recommendations about the use of hearing aids, cochlear implants, group/classroom amplification and assistive listening devices;

    • Selects and fits personal FM equipment;

    • Ensures the proper fit and functioning of hearing aids, cochlear implants, group/classroom amplification and assistive listening devices;

    • Fabricates, selects, and fits appropriate ear molds;

    • Serves as a member of the educational team in the evaluation, planning, and placement process, to make recommendations regarding placement, related service needs, communication needs, and modification of classroom

    environments for students with hearing impairments or other auditory problems;

    • Provides in-service training on hearing, hearing impairment, auditory disorders, amplification devices and their implication to school personnel, students, and parents;

    • Counsels and guides students, parents, and teachers regarding hearing loss and resulting needs;

    • Maintains and calibrates equipment;

    • Maintains records and prepares reports;

    • Provides educational programs for educational staff and the community.

  • The NYS ENL Teacher, also known as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher or English Language Learner (ELL) teacher, is responsible for providing English language instruction to students whose primary language is not English.     Job Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Education, TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), or a related field. A master's degree is often preferred.

  • The Migrant Tutor supports classroom instruction and student learning under the direction of the lead teacher. The role involves working directly with migrant students to provide academic reinforcement, assist with small group and one-to-one instruction, and help create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment.

    Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom instruction and student activities

    Provide one-on-one or small group academic support in reading, writing, mathematics, and other subject areas
