STRIVE Students and EJ Employees Team Up for Earth Day Cleanup

Students from the High School STRIVE program at CiTi BOCES recently partnered with employees from EJ USA to take part in an Earth Day cleanup at the L. Michael Treadwell Oswego County Industrial Park in the Town of Schroeppel.
The industrial park spans more than 367 acres and serves as home to EJ USA, CiTi BOCES South Campus, and several other local employers, including a day care center operated by Oswego County Opportunities. In addition to supporting business, education, and workforce development, the property includes natural areas inhabited by local plant and wildlife species.
During the cleanup, STRIVE students and EJ employees worked side by side to collect garbage throughout the property. The effort helped improve the appearance of the park while also supporting environmental stewardship and care for the shared space.
“The L. Michael Treadwell Oswego County Industrial Park is an important home to local businesses, hundreds of jobs, and a key hub for the economic vitality of Oswego County,” said Brian Heffron, Administrator of Workforce Development and Community Relations at CiTi BOCES. “As tenants of this property, our students and staff are proud to annually partner with EJ USA to be good stewards of the land we share.”
The annual cleanup reflects the strong partnership between CiTi BOCES and EJ USA, the collaboration provided students with a meaningful opportunity to give back to the community, work alongside local industry partners, and participate in a hands-on service project connected to Earth Day.
