CTE Students Receive End of Year Honors

Students in the Career and Technical Education program at CiTi recently celebrated the end of the school year with their student recognition ceremony.


Principal Michael Thurlow began both morning and afternoon ceremonies asking student to pause and think about the education that they have received throughout this school year. Students who participated in Skills USA competitions and inductees in to the National Technical Honor Society were asked to stand for recognition. Students who achieved industry milestones or those who received industry credentials were recognized be their peers and educators.


During the ceremony, many students received awards and scholarships for their hard work and dedication. Students with perfect attendance throughout this school year were: Elizabeth Aud, Kameron Balcom, Taylor Bonoffski, Tiaira Copenhaver, Travis Crosby, Brittany Cross, Stephen Gorman, Lucas Myers, Jacob Shatrau, Matthew Taormina, Makenzie Wells and Nevaeh Worley.


Students receiving the Dr. David M. Stern Most Improved Award were: Advanced Metal Manufacturing: Mark Zogg and Caleb Bristol; Auto Body: Cole Bettinger, Travis Gallia, Hannah Smith-Root and Logan Winn; Auto Technology: Kolby Banach, Tyler Dence, Ron Parody and Jonathn Sprague; Computer Coding: Victor Blair, Jacob Shatrau and Sarah Stewart; Computer Systems A+: Brian Sickler Computer Systems CISCO: Gabriel Laird; Construction Technology: Tyler Davis, Jacob Sharp, Shawn Totman, Robert Vincent-Mills; Cosmetology: Lauren Bush, Cristina Reynoso Boch, Madison Collins and Hannah Picotte; Culinary Arts: Scott Barrington, Haley Gardner, Ashley Jean and Angelica Rosado; Digital Media Technology: Taylor Bartle, Oliver Hill, Cornelius Labonoski and Benjamin Stupp; Early Childhood Education: Danielle McAuslan, Katlyn Moon, McKenzie Spooner and Isabella Thorpe; Heavy Equipment: Jaymes Garrison, Dakota Gleason Connor Hunter and William Monica; Industrial Electrical Technologies: Elvis Monaghan-Bradbury; New Vision Allied Health: Caleb Kinsley and Dylan Occhino; New Vision Law and Government: Matthew Francis; New Vision Specialized Careers: Trentyn Holt and Alexis Johnson; Nursing Assistant: Emily Lopez-McIntyre, Nicole Mistico, McKayla Tuzinski and  Victoria Warner; Outdoor Power: Dakota West; Public Safety and Justice: Brittany Cross, Dale Reynolds, Robert Whitcomb and David Worden; Welding Technology: Trevor LaRobardiere, Hunter Lehtonen, Dylon Richards and Stephen Ruffalo.


The Oswego Elks Lodge #271 Teen of the Month recipients were: Emily Alnutt, Trevor Elowsky, Tim Halsey, Chase Kaylor, Tory Paro, Nathan Stuart, Robert Fredericks, Matthew Vincent and Preston Wallis.


Gabrielle Carpenter was the recipient of the Dr. Burton Ramer Scholarship, Matthew Taormina won the John A. Hort Scholarship, Caleb Bristol won the Spike Nolan Scholarship and Echo Longley won the Dylan R. Blair Automotive Wrenching Award. Alec Caroccio won the Rotary Club of Oswego Occupational Education Award.


The Spike Nolan “Making a Difference” Scholarship went to Emily Alnutt and Bella Seymour with Brook Tennant won the American Red Cross Scholarship. Alec Caroccio, Andrew Hermann, Erin Maneely and Caleb Miller won the Oswego County School Facilities Association Scholarship. The CTE Student Services Top 3 Scholarship went to Jeremy Fellows, Julia May and Emily Sampson. The Blue Knights Scholarship was awarded to Josh Evans and Jacob Parkhurst. Recipients of the Bryant & Stratton Scholarships were Diamond Brown, Erick Ponce, Bella Seymour and Mikayla Wilcox.


Dalton Burdick and Matthew Taormina were recognized for receiving paid internships at Huhtamaki.
