Sampson Honored By Law Enforcement

Senior Emily Sampson from CiTi’s Public Safety & Justice program was recently honored by members of a law enforcement club for her efforts in the classroom.

The Blue Knights NY XIX, a law enforcement motorcycle club out of Rome, NY, and the Oswego County Sheriff's Office led a surprise parade to Sampson’s home to present her with the Blue Knights New York XIX Scholarship.

Sampson, a soon-to-be-graduate of Pulaski High School, said she was completely surprised by the parade, but also honored to accept the scholarship.

“This is just so special,” said Sampson. “I applied for the scholarship but didn’t know if I’d get it, let alone have this big surprise.”

Sampson, who will training to become an EMT after graduation, said her choice to join the Public Safety & Justice program at CiTi was a life-changing decision.

“When I went into the Public Safety program, I was really quiet and shy,” she said. “But it helped me with public speaking and interacting with people.”

Sampson said she gained a passion for the EMT field this past year and thanked her instructors for turning her passion into a reality.

“They’re the ones that really made me become interested in this field and always pushed me to do my best,” she said.
