Students Learn About Home Daycare Businesses

Early Childhood Education students recently got a look at the ins and outs of running a home-based childcare business.

Erica DeLong of Integrated Community Planning of Oswego County visited with both the morning and afternoon sessions of the Early Childhood Education program, one of the many CTE offerings at the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation.

Beth Britton’s students learned about the different requirements and the application process to start a small business childcare out of one’s home.

The Child Care & Development Council of Oswego County works to encourage and assist those interested in starting a daycare, a critical need in the county as there are three children in need for every one childcare spot available, DeLong said.
