CiTi Celebrates 75th Anniversary

The Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation (CiTi), formerly Oswego County BOCES, proudly celebrates its 75th anniversary this year. Since its founding on August 19, 1949, this Diamond Jubilee marks a time to reflect on the remarkable transformation of an organization that began as a “diamond in the rough” and has evolved into a beacon of educational innovation.

For 75 years, CiTi has collaborated with its nine component school districts to empower students, educators and the broader community with essential tools for success, continuously adapting to meet the ever-changing demands of the world. CiTi provides out-of-the-box learning experiences while offering cost-effective cooperative services and programs to districts both within and beyond Oswego County.

From its early focus on adult and high school career and technical education, along with support for students with disabilities, CiTi has grown exponentially. Its offerings now include professional learning opportunities for educators, management services like printing and purchasing that reduce district costs and innovative programs such as Synergy Virtual High School and Oswego County P-TECH.

Whether it’s Migrant Education services, Audiology services, distance learning opportunities or arts-in-education, CiTi’s extensive services are hard to fully encapsulate. What remains clear, though, is the deep and lasting impact CiTi and Oswego County Schools continues to have on the community.
