Our industry partners play a key role in the P-TECH model. First and foremost, representatives attend an industry advisement where they make recommendations on our curriculum to ensure our students are up-to-date on all the latest trends and technologies. In addition, our business partners invest and give back in our community by providing several opportunities for our students:
- Students are provided with a mentor from a local industry partner; they meet several times a year and work on skills that prepare them for the workplace.
- Throughout the year, our industry partners will create an industry challenge for our students that test critical thinking, problem-solving team work and more.
- Additionally, this partnership with our local community lets students come for workplace visits, job shadows and internships. Many of our students that intern with our industry partners eventually become employed by them.
